Subject: HTX-202 Mod Option!?!
Path: N6IIU!N0ARY!KB2EAR!FE6CNB!K3WGF!WA2LKI
There have been many messages that ask for a mod to expand the receive on the
HTX-202. For those people who really need the expanded receive, I have come up
with the following to modify your station as far as an HTX-202 is concerned.
1. Do NOT buy an HTX-202 if you wish to have expanded receive.
2. If you have an HTX-202, figure out what you can get for it.
3. Put the HTX-202 on your local swap-net or Ham Radio Magazine.
4. Take the money you get and put it towards another HT with expanded receive.
5. Add this to your station list.
There you go, You have just modified your station as far as the HTX-202 is
concerned. Your Ham Shack will now be complete. Enjoy these MODS as I know you
will be happy with the receive....
Best 73's and Enjoy your new toy!!!

ps. If you wish not to sell your HTX-202. You can get a pocket scanner from
the same place with broader coverage!!!!

Hello All,
I am still looking for any mods for the Yaesu FT-5100. I have gotten several
responses but none that have had the mods. I am looking in particular for any
mods that will allow extended receive in the UHF band and would also be
interested in any mods that will allow extended receive for the air band also.
I have these same mods for the FT-5200 but they didn't look like they would
work for the FT-5100, any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Greetings!
I have a couple of older CP/M machines that any HAM is welcome to have for
free. One is a desktop and one is a portable. Both work, however the
portable has had something spilled in the KB and needs to be thoroughly
cleaned up. There are packet (terminal) programs out there for CP/M,
although you'll need to fin one for the same generation machine as these...
as CP/M had numerous formats. (There are also HAMs out there that either
know of CP/M user groups that can help you convert disks to your machine, or
have multi-mode copy software that can take a terminal program for one
type machine and copy it over to a format which yours can use.)
If someone wants to experiment, drop me a msg. and make arrangements to pick
them up.

For the general information of all USA hams. The asking for information
on how to illegally modifiy ANY GEAR is specifically prohibited. This includes,
but is not limited to, SCANNERS, CB Radios, HAM GEAR, Videocypher CATV
descramblers, and encryption devices. Posting of such messages makes the
sender and the originating station responsible.
In addition, providing such information via AMATEUR RADIO is an ADDITIONAL
criminal offense.
If a specific need exists for equipment to be modified, communications with
the manufacturer (ie. copy of MARS license, etc) are necessary. In NO CASE
should AMATEUR radio be used for this purpose.
Moreover, possession of illegally modificed equipment may also be another
offense. Better safe than sorry...
This information confirmed with the DETROIT MI FCC field Office.
Enough of these type of messages already!!
